[email protected] September 16-18 event provides in-depth look at key scrap commodity markets
Washington, DC - The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries, Inc. (ISRI) will host its annual Commodities Roundtable Forum, September 16 to 18, 2013, in Chicago, Illinois. The once a year event is a must-attend for all involved in the trade of scrap commodities from processors to brokers to buyers. It provides the most comprehensive view of what is happening in the world of ferrous and nonferrous metals and plastics commodities, part of the $90 billion scrap recycling industry. It also serves as an excellent opportunity to network with industry leaders.
This year will feature a special spotlight discussion on the global economy that will examine the key industry sectors and regions to watch for the scrap commodity markets. As volatile prices have prompted several analysts to declare an end to the commodities “super cycle” this roundtable discussion will focus on global market developments that will dictate the pace of growth going forward.
“There is no doubt that there is a high level of uncertainty in the markets right now when it comes to scrap supply and demand,” said Joe Pickard, ISRI’s chief economist. “The industry is facing challenging conditions at home and abroad, yet there are still plenty of opportunities to be had for recyclers. This dynamic will for sure lead to a number of lively discussions at this year’s Roundtable.”
Confirmed presenters at this year’s Commodities Roundtable include:
Derek Benham, ThyssenKrupp Metallurgical Products NY
Barry Hunter, Hunter Alloys
