State Legislative Sessions

2021 State Session Calendar

The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) provides an interactive 2020 State Session Calendar. Click on any state to view session dates, or download the information as a PDF.

Virtual vs. In-Person State Legislative Sessions

As a result of COVID-19, some 2021 state legislative sessions will be held virtually instead of in-person. The information in this spreadsheet shows the manner in which state legislatures will be meeting for the 2021 sessions — in-person, virtually, or a hybrid model. Many states have not yet made a determination, but we are monitoring official actions and press coverage and will update this resource as new information becomes available.

State Lobbying & Gift Laws

ISRI provides its members with important information on Lobbying Laws and Political Contributions. Included is an overview of 50-state summaries of key provisions, including lobbyist registration fees, penalties, gift restrictions, and thresholds for activities that require registration as a lobbyist.

This is an exclusive ISRI member benefit for ISRI's chapter leadership, who can access the information at www.stateandfed.com; if you would like access to the materials, please contact your chapter president. If you've forgotten your username or password or would like an overview of what the guides can do for you, contact Danielle Waterfield for assistance.
